She brings to GeoSeq™ International unique specializations that include the evaluation of scientific & legal/regulatory aspects of carbon dioxide capture and sequestration (CCS), climate policy, greenhouse gas management, sustainable development, national and international environmental and water law, subsurface and groundwater geology, and the examination of fate and transport of hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Veronica Brieno Rankin, LL.M. in Brief As a hydrogeologist and international regulatory professional, Ms. Veronica Brieno Rankin has advised leading venture capitalists and provided support to Governmental agencies regarding the successful deployment of carbon dioxide capture and sequestration (CCS). Her expertise includes serving as a New York State (NYS) CCS public outreach advisor and advisor to the NYS CCS Task Force on CCS risk management issues. Other activities entailed participating NYS Advanced Clean Coal Power Plant Initiative and providing technical support regarding the proposed nuclear repository within the Yucca Mountain, Nevada region. Ms. Veronica Brieno Rankin has contributed to key international CCS-related initiatives involving the G8, International Energy Agency (IEA), and Carbon Sequestration Leadership Forum (CSLF) and served as an Invited Expert Reviewer to numerous reports released by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), 2007 Nobel Peace Prize Winner. She is also an Associate Editor of Oil, Gas and Energy Law (OGEL) Intelligence for the topics of Coal and Geological Sequestration. Ms. Veronica Brieno Rankin is proud to have served as a 2005 Visiting Acknowledged Research Leader to the Cooperative Research Centre on Greenhouse Gas Technologies (CO2CRC) and Land and Water Australia of the Australia Commonwealth Government, to conduct legal and scientific research on geosequestration within Australia.
